九州体育在线投注as a natural gas scheduler i'm responsible for scheduling natural gas movements from connected pipelines to downstream markets, pipelines, and shore-based gas processing plants. maintaining shipper imbalances, operational balancing agreements on a daily basis and minimize month-end carryover credit and price risk exposure. i also assist customers and accounting in resolving invoicing and other gas balancing volume-related issues that may arise. i compile shipper nominations and other pipeline information in order to coordinate and schedule all receipts and deliveries to/from the system(s) on a daily and /or monthly basis.
i'm currently serving in the texas army national guard as an attack helicopter pilot. some of the responsibilities that i now have as a natural gas scheduler that are similar to those of a helicopter pilot are communication with others, equipment management, decision making, and planning.
what i enjoy most about my current position is the challenge of learning how scheduling a gathering system works. i also work alongside the best scheduling crew in the building. no two days are alike and i have developed many new professional relationships with great people.
i like that enterprise products is very supportive of military personnel. i have met several people that have served, or are still currently serving as reservists or national guardsmen/women. my required military training has been easily accommodated and the support of coworkers is encouraging.
i would tell anyone transitioning from the military to civilian workforce to seek all available forms of support and be persistent, yet patient. i attended several hiring events, spoke with recruiters, and spent hours completing online applications. the right position will come even if it is not the first offer.

九州体育在线投注i really enjoy working with the people at enterprise products. my current position is supervisor of property accounting. i manage a team of 7 accountants and we maintain the fixed asset records for the company’s physical assets, i.e. pipelines, tanks, pumping equipment, etc. we also prepare reconciliations between our subsystem and the general ledger and prepare numerous reports, analysis and net book values upon request. i enjoy the fact that in property accounting, i kind of feel that we’re on the front edge of all of the activity. we see all the assets that the company owns, purchases and constructs, and at the same time we’re one of the first ones to know if there’s a divestiture that’s about to occur. over the past three years enterprise has spent a large sum of money on new construction. being in property accounting and seeing that construction, and seeing dollars they spent, it tells me that i’m working for a very strong and solid organization.
九州体育在线投注i’m a commander in the united states naval reserve. some of the skills that we learn in the military that translate easily into the civilian sector are decision making, dedication and contingency. as a commander, the position is equivalent to a supervisor/manager in corporate america. supervising my personnel in the military is similar to supervising my civilian staff here at enterprise. the difference is just the particular jobs that are being done.
九州体育在线投注i enjoy a number of things about being supervisor of property accounting. it’s nice to know the actual physical assets operating and earning the company’s revenue. it’s very interesting to know the value of these different assets and understanding the time required to construct them as well. each year, we take a site visit to tour and understand the operations for that facility. it really helps us better understand the asset details we’re recording on the books as well as how it operates.
what i like most about working for enterprise products are the people i work with. property accounting has a great team and i really enjoy working with them. we “feed” off each other and we all learn from each other as well. in my position, i have the opportunity to communicate with some senior level management as well and that has always been a great experience. it’s a motivator to work with such good, professional people.
九州体育在线投注i would advise anyone that’s interested in joining corporate america from the military to plug straight ahead and come into it with an open mind. i know in the military we have harsh deadlines we have to meet and in the civilian sector we have hard deadlines we have to meet. the dedication that we put into performing our tasks in the military, we put that same dedication to it in the civilian sector. it’s the same business being done, just different tasks.

九州体育在线投注as a terminal operator, i’m responsible for transporting and unloading rail cars of liquefied petroleum gas for further process and refinement.
九州体育在线投注teamwork and communication are the pillars of success in any organization and keeping safety at the forefront of daily operations. movement of heavy equipment and responsibility of safety and the care, maintenance and completing all assigned tasks are similar to my military duties.
i enjoy the constant activity and opportunities to learn and improve my skills and knowledge. the company’s policies not only follow the soldier and sailor’s act, but ensure that the veterans are well cared for and the reserve soldiers are encouraged to continue to serve the nation. the company is very generous in its military service policies.
working at enterprise products is an honest day’s wage, for an honest day’s work. the company illustrates it’s appreciation by policy, but also the atmosphere and willingness to go the extra mile to accommodate the challenging schedules of those currently serving in the reserves.
bring your strongest military attributes to work: discipline, work ethic, situation awareness, and inherent leadership to work every day. patience. practice it. realize that some of the leadership and personnel have spent years learning their trade and becoming subject matter experts as you have in your military life. however, you are the new team member in the organization and although you may have much to offer, seek knowledge and education, learn the policies and procedures and gain situational awareness in the company. work ethic and leadership are contagious. continue performing your duties to the best of your abilities and others will appreciate it and follow your example.
